Important dating question

ok, facebook has a people you may know tool. kind of like friend of a friend. I clicked on that and found a girl who goes to my college. i was checking her profile out. she's really cute! her interest are similar to mine, same music, movies, etc. i said to myself, this girl could be a potential girlfriend. she's involved in a community service club im thinking of joining, but I don't want to go there just to meet her. I don't want to send her a message and say "you're eyes are a blue and deep as the sea after a storm, blah blah blah" because I think that's really creppy! I don't know her, but I kind of like her already, because she seems like a good person, but no, I'm not in love (infatuated) with her. what can I do to meet her, but not be a creepy stalker?
