Why do people ask questions and....?

Like why when people come up to you and ask questions like hows school when they know good and well your not in school right now. It pisses me off like, they dont ask how are you doing or something like that. They just say how's school or if my foot is broken and in a cast theyll say hey hows your foot. I end up looking at them like wtf, then they get mad if i one word answer them. Then people wonder why I dont visit or go anywhere. Its because people ask these questions and stuff , then before you even walk away they talking junk about you and putting your buisness in the streets. Why do people do that stuff. Sorry about the graphically, grammar errors because I am upset right now.
