Is this an optimal build?

It's a capital waste of money imho. Everything will work just fine on a PC half that price, the only good thing about this one is the ability to brag. It will become old anyway, so why slam all that money in it? Buy a cheaper machine, and go travel. After 2 years, buy a similarly priced machine again. An i5 processor with 8GB of ram and Radeon 6870 GPU will do the job just fine, unless you are an absolute hardware nut that has to have the best PC in the neighborhood. A nice vacation is worth much more than that for me.
